Overview

Video Time supports activity completion tracking, allowing you to define when an activity is marked as complete. You can choose from manual completion, view-based completion, or video progress-based criteria.


Available completion options

None

No completion conditions are applied to the activity.

Students must manually mark the activity as done

Students manually mark the activity as complete.
This is Moodle’s default setting, allowing students to mark and unmark completion at any time.

Add requirements

Enables additional completion criteria. The following options become available:

View the activity

Marks the activity complete when the student starts the player at least once.

Completion on view time (Pro only)

Marks the activity complete when the student has watched for a specific amount of time.
You can define the minimum number of seconds required.

Completion on watch percentage (Pro only)

Marks the activity complete when the student has watched a defined percentage of the video.

Completion on video finish (Pro only)

Marks the activity complete only when the entire video has been watched.

Receive Grade (Pro only)

Marks the activity complete when the student receives a grade.
You can choose to require:

  • Any grade, or

  • A passing grade

Hide completion details

If enabled, students will not see the completion requirements.


Additional option: Set reminder in timeline

If enabled, this setting displays a reminder in the student’s Timeline block, prompting them to complete the activity.

The reminder text will show as: "Video Time requires action".
