In-activity mode: Embed Video Times in other parts of Moodle

Using the in-activity mode to embed Video Times in other parts of Moodle using a filter (Pro only)

Updated over 2 months ago

You can embed existing Video Time activities anywhere in your Moodle course using the in-activity embed feature. This allows you to display the full, interactive Video Time player in blocks, other activities, or any text field across your course.

How to embed a Video Time activity

  1. In any text editor within Moodle, look for the 'Embed Video Time' button in the editor toolbar.

  2. Click the button to open a list of all Video Time activities in the current course.

  3. Select a video from the list to automatically insert the embed shortcode into the text field.

Requirements

This feature requires the following plugins to be installed and active:

  • tiny_videotime for adding the embed button to the editor

  • filter_videotime to process and render the embed shortcode

Embedding from other courses

You can also embed Video Time activities from other courses by manually inserting the shortcode and specifying the activity ID.

Note: The user will only see the embedded Video Time if they have access to the original activity in the source course.
