Resource settings in Media Time

Settings available when creating or editing Media Time resources.

About

When you create or edit a Media Time resource, the available options depend on the selected resource type. Creating and editing resources is possible on site, category, or course level.

Available settings

  • Resource name

    Only displayed in the resource grid.
    This field is mandatory.

  • Title

    Displayed in the resource grid and when the resource is embedded.

  • Description

    Add a description to provide more context for the resource. Displayed in the resource grid.

  • Group

    If group mode is enabled for the course, resources can be restricted to specific groups in the course.

  • Tags

    Add one or more tags to make resources easier to filter and identify. Displayed in the resource grid.


Resource specific settings

Depending on the resource type, additional settings become available, especially for uploading or linking media files.


Video Time resources

Use this resource type for local video or audio files without relying on external services or additional plugins.

  • Video file
    Use the file picker or drag-and-drop to upload a video or audio file.

  • Poster image

    Upload a custom image to display in the resource grid and before the video starts or while an audio file plays.


Vimeo

  • Video file

    You can add a video file in three different ways:

    • Upload new file
      Use the file picker or drag-and-drop to upload a video. It will be automatically uploaded to the main folder in Vimeo.

    • Select existing file

      Choose an available video from the dropdown list.

    • Uses existing Vimeo URL
      Enter a Vimeo URL or select a link from the file picker in the Media Time folder.

Important: To upload a new file or select an existing one, you need Video Time Premium with an authenticated Vimeo account.


Streamio

  • Video file

    You can add a video file in two ways:

    • Upload new file
      You’ll be prompted to upload the video after saving the settings. The file will be uploaded directly to Streamio.

    • Select existing file
      Choose an available video from the dropdown list. Available files are obtained from the connected Streamio account.

Important: To use this feature, you need to connect your Streamio account in the global settings.


Ignite

  • File sources

    You can add a video file in two ways:

    • Upload new file

      You’ll be prompted to upload a video file. The file will be uploaded directly to Ignite.

    • Select existing file
      Choose an available video from the dropdown list. Available files are obtained from the connected Ignite account.

  • Synchronize content

    When selecting an existing file, you can choose how updates are handled:

    • Local content – The video keeps its current status regardless of changes in Ignite.

    • Content synchronized – If the video is updated in Ignite, Media Time updates the source accordingly.

  • Subtitle language

    When uploading a new file, you can prompt Ignite to automatically create subtitles in one of your Moodle languages.

  • Category tags

    When uploading a new file, you can add available Ignite categories to the video.

  • Ignite tags

    When uploading a new file, you can add available Ignite tags to the video.


Vimeo folder
