Prediction setup in Timetable

Configure how Timetable calculates and displays predictions on course level (Pro only)

Updated this week

About

You can configure Timetable on the course level to define how predictions are generated and shown. If enabled, predictions appear to students in the overview. You can find these settings in a course under the secondary navigation menu > Timetable > Prediction setup.

Note: For information about available predictions and a detailed explanation of how Timetable calculates them, see the separate article on prediction logic.

Note: The prediction factors are already working, but they are still experimental and will be fine-tuned over time.

Available settings

Note: Timetable includes default feedback for different score boundaries. When you add manual feedback, it replaces the default feedback for that score boundary and all higher boundaries. For boundaries below the lowest manually configured score, Timetable continues to use the default feedback.

Overall feedback

The overall feedback is based on the combined result of all prediction factors. By default, you have three feedback fields available, and you can add more if needed.

For each feedback field you can configure

  • Grade boundary – Enter the cutoff value in percent for showing this specific feedback.

  • Feedback – Add the feedback in the standard Moodle editor.

  • Feedback image – Add an image via the file picker or drag and drop.

Feedback for each prediction factor

You can configure individual feedback for each prediction factor. All factors offer the same settings.

  • Weight

Numeric value between 0 and 1 used in the overall prediction. Set it to 0 to exclude it from the overall prediction.

  • Hidden from students

Enable to hide this feedback from students. This does not affect its use in the overall prediction.

  • Score boundary

Enter the cutoff value in percent for showing this specific feedback.

  • Display icon

Select one of the available icons shown with this feedback.

    • Success (checkmark)

    • Warning (triangle)

    • Danger (X)

    • Info (i)

    • Custom icon class – Enter a custom icon class.

    • Custom image – Upload an image using the file picker or drag and drop.

  • Display text

Enter the text shown with this feedback.

  • Display color

Choose the color for this feedback

    • Green (success)

    • Orange (warning)

    • Red (danger)

    • Blue (info)

    • Custom color – Add a hex code for a custom color.

You can add more boundaries for each prediction factor to further individualize feedback based on the calculated prediction.

Note: Timetable uses the icons and colors provided by your Moodle installation. If your site uses a custom theme or overrides default styles, these changes are automatically reflected in the displayed feedback.
