The comments report provides a comprehensive overview of all comments within a course. You can access the comments report directly by navigating to Reports > Social comments report within a course or by clicking the comments report icon located in a Social Comments block.
Available information
The comments report is split into two distinct tabs to help you track engagement data efficiently:
New comments
Lists all new comments posted since your last login. Each entry displays the commentator profile picture and name, the date and time, and the actual text content of the comment.
All comments
Displays a complete tabular overview of all comments posted in the course, showing columns for topic name, activity or resource, number of comments, date and time, first and last name of the user, the comment text, and an actions column containing a delete link for teachers or managers to remove specific entries.
Available filtering tools
When viewing the All comments tab, you can use the following configuration options located above the table to find specific entries:
Topic – Filter the listed comments by specific course sections.
Activity – Narrow down the results to comments posted on specific course activities or resources.
From / to – Enable and select specific dates to restrict the report to a particular timeframe.
Author – Search for comments made by a specific user.
Content – Search the text body of the comments for specific keywords.
