The skills management dashboard allows administrators to monitor, organize, and control the availability of skills from a centralized location. The dashboard is divided into two tabs: Active skills and Archived skills.
To access the dashboard, go to Site administration > Plugins > Admin tools > Skills.
Active skills
The active skills tab displays all skills currently available for use within the platform. Administrators can add a new entry by clicking the Create skill button.
The dashboard table provides an overview of each skill, including its tracking key, name, description, creation timestamp, and assigned course categories.
The following administrative actions are available in this tab:
Edit – Open the configuration page to modify general information or level structures.
Status toggle – Enable or disable the visibility of the skill across courses without archiving it.
Archive – Remove the skill from active use and prevent it from being newly assigned while preserving historic records.
Note: Only active skills can be assigned.
Archived skills
The archived skills tab stores skills that are no longer actively developed or issued. In addition to the standard overview data, this tab includes an Archived time column showing exactly when the skill was retired.
The following administrative actions are available in this tab:
Restore – Reactivate the skill and move it back to the active skills tab.
Delete – Permanently erase the skill from the system.
Important: Deleting a skill cannot be undone.
