How does the Booking Booster upsell work?
The Booking Booster lets you sell extra nights to guests or extend their stay at a discount. There are two modes for selling extra nights.
Gap Mode
Bookend nights — the most common option. Allows guests to extend their stay on either side of their booking, and also offers gap nights between two guest stays.
Orphan nights — only sells gap nights between two guests (to either guest) and won't sell extension days outside of that gap.
Max number of nights to offer
The maximum number of nights you can sell a guest through the Booking Booster. Most users keep this around 1–2 nights; offering more tends to lose money.
Which nights
Choose when to offer the Booking Booster — for example, weekdays only, every other day, or all nights. Most users keep it on for all nights/days.
Nightly discount
The discount applied to the extra nights when sold. This cannot be set to 0%. We recommend keeping it in the 20–30% range.
How the Booking Booster rate is calculated
Selected at the bottom of the upsell tab under "Calculating price for upsells." Options:
The Total Room Rate from your PMS, divided by the number of nights.
The Total (including all taxes and applicable fees) from Streamline, divided by the number of nights. Most users choose the total.
Guesty users have an additional option to use the rates from your calendar.
When to send offers for extended days
Delay after booking — don't send the offer until a set time after the booking is made (usually a couple of hours). Set to 0 to disable.
Earliest day to send — don't send the offer until a set number of days before the booking starts. Common values are around 10, 14, or 21 days. Set to 0 to disable.
Latest day to send — set to 0 (disabled) so the offer can send anytime. If set to 1 day out, for example, it would not send the offer once the booking is within that window.
