Shipping rates are the prices buyers see at checkout for a matching zone.
Each zone can have one or more rates. For example, a United States zone might have Standard and Express rates.
How to Create a Flat Rate
A flat rate charges one fixed amount when the buyer's destination matches the zone.
Open the order form.
Go to Shipping.
Open the shipping profile.
Open the zone you want to update.
Select Add rate.
Enter a rate name, such as "Standard" or "Express".
Enter the price.
Select Create Rate.
For example:
Rate name | Price |
Standard | $5 |
Express | $15 |
Create A Free Shipping Rate
To offer free shipping, create a rate with a price of 0.
Open the zone.
Select Add rate.
Enter a name, such as "Free shipping".
Set the price to 0.
Optional: add a condition, such as a minimum order value.
Select Create Rate.
Free Shipping Over A Certain Value
Use a price-based condition when free shipping should only apply above a cart value.
For example:
Order value | Shipping rate |
$0-$99.99 | $8 |
$100 and up | Free |
Create a rate called "Free shipping".
Set the price to 0.
Select Add conditional pricing.
Choose Based on order price.
Enter the minimum order price.
Leave the maximum blank if there is no upper limit.
Select Create Rate.
Rates Based On Order Price
Price-based rates apply when the product total falls inside a price range.
For example:
Order value | Shipping rate |
$0-$49.99 | $10 |
$50-$99.99 | $6 |
$100 and up | Free |
Avoid gaps between price ranges. If one rate ends at $49.99, the next should start at $50.
Rates Based On Quantity
Quantity-based rates apply when the total item quantity falls inside a range.
For example:
Quantity | Shipping rate |
1-2 items | $5 |
3-5 items | $9 |
6 items and up | $14 |
For bundles, each item inside the bundle contributes to quantity.
Rates Based On Weight
Weight-based rates apply when the total shipment weight falls inside a range.
Before using weight-based rates, make sure products have weights added. If a product has no weight, Beventi will not be able to quote a weight-based rate for it.
For example:
Order weight | Shipping rate |
0-1 kg | $6 |
1.01-3 kg | $12 |
3.01 kg and up | $20 |
For bundles, each item inside the bundle contributes to weight.
Base Price Plus Amount Per Quantity
This rate uses a base price plus an extra amount for each item.
For example:
Base price: $10.
Price per quantity: $2.
Buyer orders 3 items.
Shipping price: $10 + ($2 x 3) = $16.
Use this when each additional item adds a predictable fulfillment or postage cost.
Per-Weight Surcharge
For weight-based rates, you can add an optional per-kg surcharge on top of the base rate.
Use this when shipping cost increases gradually with weight instead of moving only between fixed brackets.
Editing a Rate
Open the shipping profile.
Open the zone.
Find the rate.
Open the rate menu.
Select Edit.
Make your changes.
Select Save.
Re-check validation.
How to Delete a Rate
Open the shipping profile.
Open the zone.
Find the rate.
Open the rate menu.
Select Delete.
Confirm the deletion.
Deleting a rate may leave a zone without any checkout options. Re-test the affected destinations after deleting rates.
Best Practices For Rates
Use clear names that are easy for customers to understand, such as "Standard", "Express", or "Free shipping".
Keep the rate currency the same as the order form currency.
Avoid gaps between price, quantity, or weight ranges.
Leave the final maximum field blank when you want the last bracket to be open-ended.
Add product weights before using weight-based shipping.
Use Validate to find gaps, missing weights, and empty zones.
