Validate and test your shipping setup

How to validate shipping configuration, test countries, test addresses, and resolve setup gaps before publishing.

Use Validate & test before publishing an order form, after changing rates, and after assigning products to custom profiles.

Validation helps find setup problems. Testing shows what a buyer would see for a sample basket and destination.

Open Validate & Test

  1. Open the order form.

  2. Go to Shipping.

  3. Select Validate & test.

You can also open a shipping profile and use the Validate toggle or Test rates link from the profile page.

What Validate Checks

Validate reviews the shipping setup and flags issues that may affect checkout.

It can identify:

  • Profiles with assigned products but no zones.

  • Zones with no rates.

  • Products missing weight when weight-based rates are used.

  • Products missing prices when price-based rates are used.

  • Gaps in price, quantity, or weight brackets.

  • Brackets that stop before covering larger orders.

  • Rates using a different currency from the order form.

  • Mixed weight units that may be harder to manage.

Understanding Validation Results

Validation results are grouped by severity.

Result type

Meaning

Error

A setup problem that can stop checkout for affected products or destinations.

Warning

Shipping may work, but the setup could confuse or block some buyers.

Note

Informational guidance to make the setup easier to manage.

If you see errors, fix them before publishing or sharing the order form.

Re-Check After Editing

Validation results are a snapshot. If you change zones or rates after validating, select Re-check to refresh the results.

This prevents new warnings from appearing while you are still editing.

Build a Test Basket

The test tool starts with an empty basket so you can choose exactly what to test.

  1. Open Validate & test.

  2. Select Choose products.

  3. Add the products or variants you want to test.

  4. Adjust quantities.

  5. Use Test countries or Test address.

Test a few different baskets:

  • One product from the General profile.

  • One product from each custom profile.

  • A basket that mixes General and custom-profile products.

  • Products with variants, if variants use different weights or profiles.

  • Larger quantities that should trigger quantity or weight brackets.

Test Countries

Test countries shows whether the selected basket can ship to each destination covered by your zones.

It can show:

  • Destinations that are covered.

  • Destinations with setup gaps.

  • The matching zone.

  • Rest of world fallback coverage.

  • The quoted shipping cost for the sample basket.

Use this after adding or editing zones.

Test An Address

Test address checks one specific destination.

  1. Add products to the test basket.

  2. Select Test address.

  3. Choose a country.

  4. Optional: enter postcode or ZIP, state or region, and city.

  5. Select Run test.

The result shows whether the selected basket can ship to that destination, which shipping profile was used, which zone matched, which rate applied, and why other rates did not apply.

Use this when you need to confirm postcode, ZIP, state, province, or Rest of world behavior.

What To Do If a Test Fails

If a test shows no shipping options:

  1. Check which shipping profile is listed in the result.

  2. Confirm that profile has a zone for the destination.

  3. Confirm the matching zone has at least one rate.

  4. Check whether the rate conditions cover the basket price, quantity, or weight.

  5. Check that products have weights if the rate is weight-based.

  6. Check that products have prices in the order form currency if the rate is price-based.

  7. Re-run the test after making changes.

Recommended Pre-Publish Checklist

Before publishing an order form, verify that:

  • General profile has zones and rates.

  • Every custom profile with products has zones and rates.

  • Rest of world is added if you want broad international shipping.

  • Weight-based rates only apply to products with weights.

  • Price-based rates only apply to products with prices in the order form currency.

  • Price, quantity, and weight brackets do not have gaps.

  • Final brackets are open-ended where needed.

  • Validation shows no errors.

  • Test countries works for your most important destinations.

  • Test address works for at least one domestic and one international address.

  • Mixed-profile baskets can be quoted.
