Set up RSVPs and session capacity

Enable session RSVPs, set a capacity and understand what happens when RSVPs are turned off.

Turn on Let attendees RSVP for a schedule item when you want eligible readers to reserve a place for that activity.

Enable RSVPs

  1. Open the item in Schedule.

  2. Under Place, set Capacity if places are limited.

  3. Turn on Let attendees RSVP.

  4. Check the item's time and visibility, then save.

  5. Publish the change so readers can use the updated RSVP settings.

With RSVPs on, Capacity is the RSVP limit. Leave it empty for no limit. A room's capacity is a separate detail; set the session's limit explicitly.

The item editor shows a confirmed count when people have RSVPed. RSVP confirmations can change as readers reserve or cancel places.

Stop accepting new RSVPs

Turn off Let attendees RSVP, save and publish the change. Turning the switch off stops new RSVPs. It does not cancel existing RSVPs.

FAQ

Is there a waitlist when a session is full?

There is no automatic waitlist. A place may become available if another reader cancels.

Does saving a session to a personal schedule reserve a place?

No. Saving an item and confirming an RSVP are separate actions.

Does RSVP replace an event ticket or purchase?

No. An RSVP is for the schedule activity. It does not replace any separate event entry requirements.

Why are readers still seeing the previous capacity?

Check whether the capacity edit has been published. Readers use the published session settings.
