Publish maps and choose who can see them

Make draft maps live and set access for everyone, Going readers or confirmed order holders.

Maps have their own draft/live status and access settings. Publishing your schedule does not publish its maps, and a live map does not require you to publish the schedule first.

Publish draft maps

  1. Open Maps and choose Publish drafts, or select maps and choose Make live.

  2. Check which draft maps are selected. Already-live maps stay as they are.

  3. Review any notice that a map has no pins. You can still publish the plan without interactive labels.

  4. Choose Who can see them.

  5. Confirm Make maps live. The button includes the number selected.

You can also use an individual map's Live switch. Maps appear on the event page when live, subject to the access rule you set.

Choose the audience

  • Everyone: anyone who opens the event page.

  • Readers marked as going: readers who have marked Going for this event.

  • Readers with an order: readers with a confirmed order for this event.

Going and order access are different rules. Having an order does not substitute for marking Going on a Going-only map. Sellers with an order form at the event can access live maps regardless of these reader settings.

Use Who can see this from the map's actions, or change access in Map details and choose Save. Draft maps remain hidden regardless of the audience setting. A restricted map may still show its name to readers who cannot open it; do not put private information in the name.

FAQ

Does making a map live email readers?

No. Use Send an update or Broadcasts separately if readers need an announcement.

How do I hide a map temporarily?

Switch Live off or turn off Show on the event page in its details. The map becomes a draft and can be made live again later.

Do later pin or image edits need another publish?

No. Saved edits to a live map become available without publishing the schedule. Readers may need to reload or refresh. Move the map to draft first if you want to work on it out of reader view. Existing offline or downloaded copies do not update until readers reconnect or download a newer copy.

Are access settings intended for confidential files?

They control access through the event page. Use event maps suitable for sharing; they are not a way to recall files readers have already downloaded or shared.
