Replace a map image and check its pins

Update a floor plan or PDF page while retaining the map and reviewing existing pin positions.

Use Replace image when the venue sends a revised plan. This updates the existing map and keeps its pins, rather than creating another map.

Replace the plan

  1. If you need time to review the revision privately, move the map to draft first.

  2. Open its actions or Map details and choose Replace image.

  3. Choose the replacement image or PDF. For a PDF, select the page containing the new plan.

  4. Confirm the replacement and wait for it to finish.

  5. Open Manage Pins and check every room and place against the new image.

  6. Move any misplaced pins and wait for Saved.

  7. If you moved the map to draft, switch it Live again when ready.

The map keeps its existing live/draft status during replacement. A replacement on a live map becomes available after saving. Readers may need to reload or refresh; previously downloaded PDFs and offline copies remain unchanged.

Check pin alignment

Pins retain their positions. If the new image has a different shape, Check your pins can appear. Follow Check pins to review the map, then dismiss the notice when you have finished.

Always check alignment, even if no notice appears. A plan with the same dimensions can still have rooms moved within it.

FAQ

Should I delete the old map and upload a new one?

Use replacement when it is the same map with updated artwork. Deleting the map removes its pins as well.

Can I replace a PDF map with an image?

Yes. Replacing with an image removes the old PDF attachment. Upload a replacement PDF instead if you want to keep offering a PDF download.

Do I need to tell readers separately?

Yes, if the change warrants an email. Review the map update in Broadcasts; replacement itself does not send one.

Does selecting one PDF page remove other pages from the download?

No. The downloaded attachment is the original PDF. Upload a separate document containing only pages suitable for readers.
