Introducing the Wallet: Manage Your Upstream Insurance in One Place

The Insurance Wallet is your new hub for managing all your insurance documents, certificate requests, and more β€” all in one place!

With the Insurance Wallet, you can:

πŸ“ Store and view your insurance policies.

🧾 Track your certificates of insurance (COIs).

🧍 Add and manage certificate holders, brokers, and (coming soon) additional insureds.

βœ‰οΈ Request certificates from your broker in seconds.

πŸ” Send reminders with one click!

πŸ“Œ File and track insurance claims.


How to find the Wallet:

You can find the Insurance Wallet on the list of tabs on the left menu of your page when you are logged in to Billy.

Click "Insurance Wallet":


Add Broker/Insurance Contacts

  1. Click "New Broker" in blue on the top right.

2. Enter your broker's information (Please note, only the name and email are required to save).

2. Click Save! It is important to add as many of your broker contacts as possible before you start requesting certificates.


Adding Certificate Holders, Additional Insureds, and Legal Entities

  1. Go to the Certificate Holder, Additional Insureds(Coming Soon!), or Legal Entities tab in the Settings to review/add any relevant entities. Here is our tutorial on how to do that if you need some help!


Add Your Insurance Policies

  1. Navigate to the "Insurance" Tab".

  2. Click Add Insurance Policy.

3. Upload your policy document, and Billy will extract the relevant data and automatically fill in the fields. Alternatively, you can add your policy information manually by clicking "Add Policy"(Only Policy Type and Policy Number are required).


Request a Certificate of Insurance

  1. Go to the Certificates tab, click "New Certificate Request.

2. Enter in the request details, then click "Save" or "Save and Send Request" to trigger the notification to your broker(s).

Your broker will be notified, and you can track the request status from the Certificates tab! (You can also click "Send a Reminder" to nudge your contact if needed!)


Reviewing Certificates

Once a document has been returned, you can review and request revisions if needed! Simply click on the request in the Certificates tab, then click "Review".

There, you can either select Yes/No if the document meets the criteria of your request. If you need a revision, you can add specific notes to your broker here after selecting "No, requires revision".


What does the Broker/Insurance Contact see?

They will have an upload portal where they can review the request requirements, and upload right to your Wallet!


Notifications

You can opt in/out of the Wallet upload email notifications in the Settings tool under "Email Notifications".
