Permissions are crucial for Users as they empower individuals to control access to their data and functionality within the system. By assigning specific permissions, Users can safeguard sensitive information, maintain privacy, and ensure that only authorized individuals can perform certain actions or access particular features.
3 Roles
There are now 3 roles to choose from when adding a new user or editing a current user:
It is important to note these roles are per team. A User can be an Admin on Team 1 and have Read-Only access on Team 2.
Let's explore each role in-depth to see what limitations exist (spoiler alert, the Admin role has no limitations).
Admin Role
The Admin role provides the highest level of access in Billy, and can perform all actions. If you create a new Team in Billy, you will default as the Admin.
As the Admin, you are able to assign Roles to new and existing Users within your Team and you are the only User that can create Requirements in Billy.
Projects - All actions can be taken (create/import project, add vendors, add Sample Documents, add Additional Insured(s), change Project Statuses, edit contacts, assign Requirement Groups, request and review documents, waive policies, Procore Sync Log, etc).
Coverages - All actions can be taken.
Directory - All actions can be taken.
Settings - All sections are accessible and able to be modified (change Team settings, add Users, change User Permissions, add Legal Entities, create Requirement Groups, add Additional Insured(s), add Sample Documents, Connected Apps, etc.)
Standard Role
Users with a Standard role can perform most actions in Billy, and access all pages except team settings and creating requirements.

Establishing Permissions Settings When Inviting a New User
When you invite a new user to Billy (Settings > User) you will now select the user's role. The Role will automatically default to Standard and you can make changes accordingly.
When the new User is invited to Billy, their email invitation will show which Role they have been assigned.
Establishing Permissions on Existing Users
You can also add Permissions to Existing Users on your Billy account.
Head to the Settings Page > Users and you will see a dropdown box to the right of all Users names. Admin Users are able to change this Permission setting at any time.
Click the dropdown box, choose the Permission tier. You will receive a success message on this page when the Permission tier is changed.
