Integrating Geotab with Bluedot allows you to manage your fleet vehicles more efficiently. Follow the steps below to set up Geotab with Bluedot for Fleets:
Step 1: Open the Vehicles Tab
Log in to your Bluedot for Fleets dashboard.
Navigate to the Vehicles tab.
Step 2: Add a Vehicle
Click on the 'Add Vehicle' button located at the top right of the screen.
Select 'Connect Geotab'.
Step 3: Log in to Geotab
Enter your Geotab account information to log in.
Note: It is recommended to create a separate user in Geotab for the API user credentials rather than using an existing user's credentials. This ensures that if you ever remove or change the password for the existing user, it won't affect the integration.
Step 4: Ensure Proper Permissions
Make sure that the Geotab user has all the necessary permissions.
Verify that the Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) are correct for each asset in both Bluedot and Geotab. VINs are used to automatically map Geotab devices to Bluedot. An asset with an incorrect or missing VIN will need to be manually mapped.
Step 5: Follow the Instructions
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the integration process.
Your vehicle will be identified successfully once the integration is complete.
