Terms and Conditions

Creating, viewing, and using terms and conditions in Boatyard.

Updated over 3 months ago

Setting up clear Terms and Conditions isn’t just a legal checkbox — it’s how you protect your business, set expectations with customers, and avoid future disputes.

In a marine repair environment where repairs can vary wildly in cost, complexity, and liability, your T&Cs are your frontline defense.

They help you outline your:

  • Payment terms

  • Storage fees

  • Warranty disclaimers

  • Lien rights

  • Environmental surcharges,

  • And customer responsibilities

All before anyone signs off on work. This creates clarity, prevents misunderstandings, and ensures that you have legal grounds if a customer fails to pay, abandons a boat, or disputes work after the fact.

Whether you're detailing a bilge pump or repowering a yacht, your shop needs a rock-solid foundation — and that starts with your terms.

So how do these terms work in Boatyard?

Terms and Conditions are added to your account when your dashboard is created. If you have terms and conditions that you'd like to include, deliver them to us while filling out your onboarding survey, and we'll take care of the rest.

When you send estimates to your customers, your customers will be required to accept the terms and conditions before they will be able to approve the estimate.

Where can you view your terms and conditions?

When you send an estimate through Boatyard, you'll be able to view the estimate directly from the timeline. Your terms and conditions will be added as a link at the bottom of the estimate. You can click on the link to view your terms.

Need to make changes to your terms?

We are happy to make changes to your terms and conditions any time. Contact your CSM or use live chat to request a change.
