The Boatyard dashboard is your home base for your daily business operations. There are several core components of the platform that all come together to drive efficiency and improve communication across your business. Read more about each of the different modules below.
Orders
An Order is a request for service from a customer. Orders can be for individual units of work, like a boat wash or haul out, or they can be for overarching services that include many units of work, like winterization with storage or refits.
Jobs
Jobs are the individual tasks assigned for workers to complete in order to fulfill an Order. For example, if a customer has an unknown problem with their outboard, two possible Jobs could be "Diagnose" and "Repair".
Time Tracking
Time Tracking is the record of hours and minutes spent working on a particular job by a worker. In this module, you can see the individual time entries recorded by technicians and how those compare to the time you estimated it would take.
Scheduler
Scheduler is a Calendar-based matrix that coordinates Jobs to be done, the assigned worker, the projected time they will take, and when they will take place.
Services
Services are representations of work. They can be high level service categories, like "Winterization", or more granular line items, like "Fuel Line Repair".
Parts
Parts is the collective supplies and equipment used for marine service jobs. This module includes stock inventory management and purchase order generation.
Service Reminders
Service Reminders are automated communications that alert customers when they are due for service based on their order history or on manual triggers set by your team members.
Team
Your Team refers to all of the users in your account. There are 3 different types of users in Boatyard:

Technicians. Technicians are users who are doing the work represented in your Orders and Jobs. Unlike the Team Members, they can only view details on work that is assigned to them.
Contractors. Contractors are workers from outside of your organization that are assisting to complete tasks associated with a service order.
Parts. While it is not a type of user, it is a permission you can assign to any team member who needs access to manage your parts inventory levels.
