Admin Console - Manage Teacher Libraries

This guide is designed for administrators, education leaders, and support staff who need to manage teacher libraries for organizational, administrative, or security purposes. It provides clear steps and tools to help streamline library oversight, ensuring resources are effectively managed and securely maintained.

How can I manage teacher libraries?

To manage teacher libraries, navigate to the Teachers section in the Admin Console. Locate the desired teacher, click the three-dot menu (or their avatar), and select Manage Teacher Libraries. This will provide options for change of ownership and archiving.

You can choose from 3 options.

Keep and assign to a teacher

When a teacher's libraries are assigned to another teacher, all library content and student access remain unchanged—only the library's ownership is transferred.

You can decide whether to maintain the original teacher's premium license or downgrade them to a free plan. Teachers on a downgraded plan will appear in the Inactive List for future reference.

The newly assigned teacher will receive an in app notification and will see the assigned libraries within their teacher dashboard.

Keep and assign to an admin

Assigning libraries to an admin, allows you to the content and student access to remain unchanged, with the libraries now owned by the assigned admin user.

Archive and close libraries

Archiving libraries removes student access and stores the libraries and content in an archived state. While published books remain accessible to viewers, they can no longer be edited.

Keeping the teacher's premium license active ensures they retain full access to Book Creator features, making this a practical option for managing libraries at the end of a term or academic year.

How do I get this feature?

If you have a premium license, and are an administrator for the organisation then you will automatically have access to manage teacher libraries.

FAQs
What happens to the teacher and student books of a re-assigned library?

The books remain within the library and ownership will be transferred from the previous owner to the new library owner. Co-teachers and students will retain access.

What happens to teacher and student books of an archived library?

Just as you would archive an individual library, any published books remain available via their published links, co-teacher and student access is revoked.

Can I reassign individual libraries?

Not right now, assigning moves the ownership of all libraries of one teacher to another teacher. If you want to temporarily assign then it is best to use the co-teacher function for dual ownership and management.
