You can hide all books at once or just some of them.
Hide all books
In the iOS app:
Go to the My books section.
Tap your avatar (the round icon in the upper right corner).
Select Confidentiality
Tap Don’t show my books
In the Android app:
Tap your avatar (the round icon in the lower right corner)
Tap the settings icon in the upper left corner
Select Confidentiality
Tap Don’t show my books
On the website:
Click your avatar (the round icon in the upper right corner)
Select Settings
Select Confidentiality in the menu on the left
Click Don’t show my books
A padlock will appear on the My books page, and other users will not be able to see what you’re reading or listening to. Books you add later will also not be visible, and the news about it will not be published on your friends’ Activity page.
Note: if you want to revert the changes, go to Settings and tap or click Don’t show my books again.
Hide some books
If you like sharing books with your friends but would prefer to keep some of them to yourself, you’re welcome to read the latter in private. Here’s how to do that on different devices.
On the book page in the app:
Go to the page of the book you want to hide
Tap the button with three dots in the upper right corner
Select Read in private or Listen in private from the pop-up menu
While reading in the app:
If you’re reading a book or comic book, tap the middle of the screen
Tap the three dots in the upper right corner
Select Read in private from the pop-up menu
On the book’s page on the website:
Go to the page of the book you want to hide
Click the button with three dots next to the Read or Listen in app button
Select Read in private or Listen in private from the pop-up menu
While reading on the website:
Move the cursor to the upper right corner of the screen
Click the button with three dots
Select Read in private from the pop-up menu
The book will be hidden, and a padlock will appear above its cover. Other readers will not be able to see it in your profile. Nor will they be able to see any quotations or notes you make while reading.
