You can hide all bookshelves at once or just some of them. Bookshelves can also be created private by default.
Hide all bookshelves
In the iOS app:
Go to the My books section
Tap your avatar (the round icon in the upper right corner).
Select Confidentiality
Tap Don’t show my bookshelves
In the Android app:
Tap your avatar (the round icon in the lower right corner).
Tap the settings icon in the upper left corner.
Select Confidentiality
Tap Don’t show my bookshelves
On the website:
Click your avatar (the round icon in the upper right corner)
Select Settings
Select Confidentiality in the menu on the left
Tap Don’t show my bookshelves
All your bookshelves will be hidden from other readers. Only you and bookshelf followers will be able to see their contents. If you want to remove your bookshelf followers, please contact our customer support.
Hide some bookshelves
On the website:
Select a bookshelf
Hover the cursor over the button with three dots
Select EditHover the cursor over the globe (sphere) icon
Select Private
Click Save
In the app:
Select a bookshelf
Tap the button with three dots in the upper right corner
Select Edit
Press the padlock in the lower left corner
Tap the tick icon in the upper right corner of the screen
Now you’re the only one who can see that bookshelf. If the bookshelf has followers, they’ll still be able to see its contents and any updates.
Hide bookshelves by default
In the Android app:
Tap your avatar (the round icon in the lower right corner)
Tap the settings icon in the upper left corner
Select Confidentiality
Tap Hide new bookshelves
In the iOS app:
Go to the My books section
Tap your avatar (the round icon in the upper right corner)
Select Confidentiality
Tap Hide new bookshelves
On the website:
Click your avatar (the round icon in the upper right corner)
Select Settings
Select Confidentiality in the menu on the left
Click Hide new bookshelves
All the bookshelves you create from now on will only be visible to you and other users won’t be able to follow them.
