Definition

In the Bottleneck Manufacturing Portal, a Vendor Org refers to an external organization or company from which your Manufacturer Org purchases goods or services. This could include raw materials, packaging, equipment, or services essential for your manufacturing processes. Similar to Customer Orgs, each Vendor Org can have multiple contacts and addresses associated with it. Different contacts can be configured to be notified for various events, and different addresses can be set up for different purposes such as billing and receiving shipments.

Examples

For example, "Natural Packaging Solutions Inc." could be a Vendor Org supplying eco-friendly packaging materials to "Sunshine Beverages LLC." "Natural Packaging Solutions Inc." would have its own profile within the Bottleneck Manufacturing Portal, with details such as its name, primary contact, and addresses. It could also have multiple contacts, like "Sarah White," who is in charge of sales, and "Mike Brown," who handles logistics. Additionally, there might be an office address in Chicago for billing and a factory address in Ohio for sending shipments.

Relations

  • Manufacturer Org: Each Vendor Org is associated with your Manufacturer Org as an entity from which you acquire goods or services.

  • Contacts: Vendor Orgs can have multiple contacts that represent individuals within the Vendor Org with whom your Manufacturer Org interacts. Each contact can have specific roles or departments.

  • Addresses: Vendor Orgs can have multiple addresses, such as billing addresses and shipping addresses, which are used in purchase orders and receiving shipments.

Example Relations

For "Natural Packaging Solutions Inc.," "Sarah White" (sales) could be set as the contact to be notified for placing new orders, while "Mike Brown" (logistics) could be notified for coordinating shipments. When creating a purchase order for packaging materials, the billing address could be set to their office in Chicago, while the shipping address for receiving materials could be set to your manufacturing facility.

Entity Lifecycle States

Vendor Orgs generally do not have lifecycle states. Similar to Customer Orgs, their status can be managed through activity and engagements in the system. They can also be marked as active or inactive based on the current business relationship with them.
