Definition

Manufacturer Org, short for Manufacturer Organization, represents your manufacturing company within the Bottleneck Manufacturing Portal. It serves as the central entity that encompasses your business's various aspects such as facilities, production, inventory, sales orders, and relationships with customers and vendors. The Manufacturer Org is essential for organizing and managing your operations in the system. It also enables the portal to tailor features and workflows according to the specifics of your manufacturing business.

Examples

Let's consider a fictional company, "Sunshine Beverages LLC." Sunshine Beverages specializes in producing and packaging a wide range of healthy beverages, such as fruit juices and smoothies. Within the Bottleneck Manufacturing Portal, "Sunshine Beverages LLC" would be set up as a Manufacturer Org, allowing it to manage its facilities, inventory, production plans, sales orders, and customer and vendor relationships through the portal.

Relations

As a Manufacturer Org, you can establish relationships with various entities within the system:

  • Facilities: Your Manufacturer Org can own and operate multiple manufacturing facilities where the actual production takes place.

  • Inventory Items: You can manage the inventory of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods associated with your Manufacturer Org.

  • Users: Employees or associates with access to the system are linked to your Manufacturer Org, and can have various roles and permissions.

  • Sales Orders: You can receive and manage sales orders from customers within your Manufacturer Org.

  • Customer Orgs: Your Manufacturer Org interacts with customer organizations that place orders for your products.

  • Vendor Orgs: You also engage with vendor organizations to procure the raw materials and supplies needed for production.

Example Relations

In the case of our fictional example, "Sunshine Beverages LLC" might have two facilities - one in California and another in Texas. The California facility could specialize in fruit juices, while the Texas facility focuses on smoothies. "Sunshine Beverages" would maintain an inventory of oranges, apples, packaging bottles, and labels. The organization could have several users, such as production managers, sales representatives, and accountants. "Sunshine Beverages" would receive sales orders from customers like “Fresh Market Stores” and have relationships with suppliers like “Golden Orchard Suppliers” for procuring fruits.

Entity Lifecycle States

The Manufacturer Org typically doesn't have lifecycle states in the traditional sense; it's either present in the system or not. However, it might have statuses such as "active" or "inactive" based on subscription, contractual terms, or business operations. Being "active" means that your Manufacturer Org is fully operational within the portal, while "inactive" might indicate a paused subscription or temporary halt in operations. During the "inactive" status, certain functionalities within the portal may be restricted.
