Updated over a week ago

Definition

In the Bottleneck Manufacturing Portal, a Customer Org represents an external organization or company that your Manufacturer Org does business with, usually by selling products to them. Customer Orgs are crucial for keeping track of customer information, sales orders, invoices, and other related transactions. Each Customer Org can have multiple contacts and addresses associated with it, enabling you to configure specific contacts for notifications related to various events in the app and set different addresses for shipping and billing.

Examples

For instance, "Healthy Juices Inc." could be a Customer Org that purchases organic juices from "Sunshine Beverages LLC." "Healthy Juices Inc." would have its own profile in the Bottleneck Manufacturing Portal, containing information such as its name, primary contact, and addresses. Within "Healthy Juices Inc.," there could be multiple contacts such as "Robert Green," the procurement manager, and "Emily Rose," the finance manager. Additionally, there might be a primary address in New York for billing and a warehouse address in New Jersey for shipping.

Relations

  • Manufacturer Org: Each Customer Org is associated with your Manufacturer Org. They are the companies you do business with.

  • Contacts: Customer Orgs can have multiple contacts, representing individuals you interact with at the customer’s end. Each contact can be assigned to different roles or departments within the Customer Org.

  • Addresses: Multiple addresses can be linked to a Customer Org, such as billing addresses and shipping addresses, which are used in sales orders and shipments.

Example Relations

For "Healthy Juices Inc.", "Robert Green" (procurement manager) could be set as the contact to be notified whenever there is a new product launch, while "Emily Rose" (finance manager) might be notified for invoicing and billing purposes. Similarly, while creating sales orders, the billing address for "Healthy Juices Inc." might be set to their office in New York, while the shipping address could be set to their warehouse in New Jersey.

Entity Lifecycle States

Customer Orgs typically do not have lifecycle states. However, their status can be managed through activity and engagements in the system, such as active orders or historical data. They can also be marked as active or inactive based on your current business relationship.
