Create a Pass Setup

Learn how to create a pass setup, add pass options, and create the pass's box office.

Written by Avery Petersen

A pass setup holds the passes your school sells, such as year-long activity passes, season passes, punch passes, and family passes. After you create the setup, you create its box office, the event your passes are sold through.

For single-use event tickets, see Create a Ticketing Setup.

Add a Pass Setup

  1. Go to Events -> Ticketing, then click the Passes tab.

  2. Click Manage Passes, then click Add Pass Setup. The New Ticketing Setup page opens.

Details

  1. Under Setup Type, click Activity Pass.

  2. Enter a Setup Name, such as "2026-27 Activity Passes."

  3. Check the School Year. It defaults to the current school year.

  4. (Optional) Enter a Description and a Disclaimer. Both show to buyers on the checkout and confirmation screens. A disclaimer is typically used for refund policies, terms of entry, or liability waivers.

  5. Click Continue.

Configure

  1. Under Ticket Technology, choose QR Code Tickets or Tap At Gate. Tap At Gate uses NFC with Bound readers. For help choosing, see Which Ticketing Setup is Right for My School?

  2. Check that Stripe Account is set to your school's connected account.

  3. Leave Upcharge Processing Fee on to have the buyer pay the processing fee. For example, a $5.00 ticket plus a $0.90 fee charges the buyer $5.90. Turn it off to take the fee from your payout instead, so your school receives $4.10 for a $5.00 ticket.

  4. To choose which events accept the pass, turn on Set Accepted Passes Manually. When it's off, the pass is accepted at all events.

  5. Under Additional Settings, change these only if you need them:

    • Gate Checkout Receipt: On by default. After a gate sale, the gate operator sees the buyer's email and phone number on the checkout screen.

    • Useable Across District Schools: Lets a pass bought at one school in your district be scanned at another school's gates.

    • Add Ticket Sponsor: Shows a sponsor logo and name on tickets.

    • Allow Complimentary Tickets: Adds a free option to gate checkout. Contact information is then required, so you know who received complimentary tickets.

  6. Click Continue.

Options

  1. Click Add Pass Option.

  2. Enter an Option Name.

  3. Choose a Pass Type:

    • Year-Long

    • Season: Under Season Date Range, enter the Start Date and End Date.

    • Punch Pass: Enter the Number of Punches.

  4. Under Passes Per Purchase, choose Single (1 pass) or Multi. Passes Per Purchase doesn't appear for a Punch Pass.

    • For Multi, such as a family pack, choose a Multi Mode and enter the Number of Passes Included. Fixed always includes that number of passes. Flexible lets the buyer choose how many, up to that number.

  5. Enter the Fee.

  6. Leave Available Online on to sell the pass online. Turn it off to sell the pass only at the gate.

  7. Click Add Option.

  8. Add any other options the same way, then click Continue.

Review and Save

  1. Check the Details, Configuration, and Options, then click Create Setup.

    • Fund Allocation, on the right, defaults to Keep payee default. To send the money somewhere else, choose Different account or Split plan. See Split Plans.

Create the Pass Box Office

After you click Create Setup, the setup's Events tab opens.

  1. Click Create Box Office. The New Event (Non-Competition) page opens.

    • You can also click Create Box Office in the setup's row on the Passes tab.

  2. Enter a Title. Buyers see the title when they search for passes in the Bound App and on your Bound page, so include the school year. That way you can check at the gate that a pass is for the right year.

  3. Leave Category set to Scheduled Event and Status set to Active. Both are selected by default.

  4. Set the Date and End Date. For most passes, use the start of the school year through your last event, such as 08/01/2026 to 07/31/2027.

  5. Under Location, click Set Location(s), choose a venue, then click Set Location(s). A location is required. Your main school location usually works, and it doesn't affect how the pass works.

  6. Leave Public visibility on. Passes sell on the web and in the Bound App only when it's on.

  7. Scroll down and click Save. Ticket Settings opens with your pass setup selected in Ticket Setup.

    • If you see a Conflicting Events notice, it's a courtesy message. You can still continue.

Passes go on sale based on the event dates unless you set a custom sale window.

The box office now appears on the Passes tab as View [title] Box Office.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure the Ticketing Availability End Date is set to a future date that covers the season.

  • Events outside the next 90-day window don't appear until they fall within it.

  • Add a location to the event. Tickets appear after the system updates.
