User permissions control what each user in your association can reach, from scheduling to financial management. You can grant every permission at once or scope access to specific categories, and within some categories to individual activities.
Permissions are separate from roles. A user's role describes who they are; their permissions decide what they can manage.
Set a user's permissions
In the association dashboard Home, click Users.
Click the edit button next to the user you want to adjust.
Click Permissions.
The Overview tab tells you where the user stands. It reads either that the user has ALL permissions, or that they have a SUBSET of permissions, and it lists each category below with what is granted.
Grant or remove everything at once
On the Overview tab:
Add All Permissions grants the user access to every permission in every category.
Remove All Permissions revokes all of them.
Note: When a user already has all permissions, the category tabs are replaced by a single Remove All Permissions button:
Remove the blanket designation first if you want to set specific permissions instead.
Set permissions by category
Each category has its own tab. Open the tab and use the toggles, then click Save Permissions.
All Permissions at the top of a category grants everything in that category.
Remove All clears the category.
For example, the Administration category has three toggles: All Permissions, User Management, which covers inviting users and editing or removing them and their permissions, and Settings.
Note: The Activities category can be scoped per activity. Each activity in your association is listed separately so you can grant access to some and not others.
Example:
Remove a user's access
On the user's Profile tab, click Remove Access to remove the user from your association entirely. This is different from removing their permissions, which leaves the user in place with nothing granted.
