How to Copy Forward a Conference Schedule

Learn how to copy a conference schedule forward, add its games, and make them visible.

Note: The Scheduler builds head-to-head schedules only. For meets and other events with more than two teams, see Schedule a game or meet.

Conference commissioners can copy an existing conference schedule instead of building one from scratch. The copy can move every date forward by a set number of days and swap home and away teams, so last year's schedule becomes this year's starting point.

Note: Before you copy a schedule, make sure you're in the correct year in the year selector at the top of the page, and check the sport's Teams page at every level you're scheduling.

If a team is missing, resync your conference schools with Sync Conference Schools to Future Years.

If a team shows UNMANAGED in the Managed column, contact Bound Support to get it managed.

Copy a Schedule

  1. From your conference, click Activities (trophy icon) in the left sidebar, then click the year under the sport you want to schedule.

  2. Click Scheduler in the sidebar, then click + Scheduler in the upper right.

  3. Select Copy Schedule Template.

  4. Fill out the Copy a Schedule form:

    • Schedule to Copy: Select the schedule to copy. Each option shows its season. You can copy within the same sport, including between its boys and girls programs (for example, boys basketball into girls basketball). You can't copy between different sports, such as volleyball into tennis.

    • Days to move forward: Enter how many days to move every date. The default is 365. Enter 0 to keep the same dates.

    • Swap Home Teams: This is selected by default. Clear it to keep the same home and away teams.

  5. Click Save. The copy appears on the Schedules page with " - Copy" added to its name.

Review and Edit the Copy

  1. Click the pencil next to the copy to open it.

  2. Rename the schedule in the name field at the top.

  3. Review the dates and matchups. Each round lists the Away Team first, then the Home Team.

Note: You don't need to set times on this page. You set game times in the next section, when you add the games.

    • To set dates in bulk, click Set Round Dates in the upper right, enter a date for each round, and click Set Round Dates under that date.

  4. Click Save at the bottom of the schedule. Save after each round so you don't lose progress.

Note: Clicking Add Games to Schedule doesn't save your changes. Click Save first.

Add the Games

  1. Click Add Games to Schedule.

  2. Click Set Competitions, then set up one level:

    • Level and Sub Level: Select the level to add. When a school has two teams at one level (for example, JV and B Team), each team is its own sub level.

    • Start Time and End Time: Enter the game times.

    • Competitions: Leave this at 1, or enter 2 for a doubleheader.

  3. Click Set Competitions. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each level that plays on the same days and at the same locations.

  4. Close the window and check the event boxes. Each level you set shows the number of competitions next to it. Levels with a 0 aren't added.

  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page, click Generate Events, then click Add Events.

NOTE: You can generate events only once per schedule, and you can't undo it. After the events are added, you can still edit or delete them one at a time.

While the events are being added, the schedule's Generation Status on the Schedules page shows In Progress. When it shows Complete, the eye icon appears next to the schedule.

Make the Games Visible

  1. On the Schedules page, click the eye icon next to the completed schedule.

  2. Turn on Visible To Public, Visible To Schools, or both, then click Submit.

Note: The update runs in the background and takes some time to reach every event. Public and school visibility are set the same for all competitions within an event.
