What is Bree?
BREE is BridgeU’s integrated AI assistant designed to support students throughout their university research and application journey.
BREE provides instant, personalised responses based on each student’s academic profile and preferences.
What can BREE help me with?
BREE is an on-platform chat assistant that answers questions about university options, application requirements, deadlines, essays, and BridgeU features , anytime you need. It’s built into BridgeU so students can get help without leaving the platform. The following areas are explained in more detail below to better support students:
1. Discovering Best-Fit Universities
Ask BREE for university or program suggestions by location, subject, scholarships, or entry requirements.
Example: “Which universities in Canada offer scholarships for international students?”
2. Clarifying Applications, Deadlines & Requirements
Ask BREE to explain application deadlines, test requirements, document needs, and country-specific procedures.
Example: “What tests do I need for US applications?”
3. Essay, Preparation & Planning Support
Get help with brainstorming essay ideas or preparing for interviews and events.
Example: “Help me brainstorm topics for my UCAS personal statement.”
4. Navigating BridgeU Tools
BREE can guide students on using platform features, including:
Requesting recommendations

Managing shortlists
Exploring resources
Where do I find Bree?
Once logged into BridgeU, look for the chat icon on your screen to start a conversation with BREE. It’s available anytime, no setup is required.
This makes it easy for students to get help on demand and helps them use the platform effectively.
How to Use BREE
Use BREE early in the research process.
Ask clear, specific questions (include interests, grades, goals).
Students should share context, like scores or target regions, for better answers.
Important Note for Counselors/Advisors
BREE is a student-only feature and cannot be accessed through advisor accounts or used on behalf of students. However, counselors/advisors can explore the feature by creating a demo student account to test and understand how it works.
What's new - Bree Failing for Some Users
A few users reported that Bree was unresponsive or returning errors when they attempted to interact with it. Affected users saw no response from Bree or received an error message when trying to start or continue a conversation. The issue was caused by an underlying service failure affecting Bree's response pipeline for certain user accounts. The failure was intermittent and did not affect all users simultaneously. Bree is now stable and responsive for all users. No action is required on the part of schools or counselors.
How to Troubleshoot if Bree becomes unresponsive ?
If you or your students are still experiencing issues with Bree after the fix was deployed, try the following steps
Refresh the page. A simple page refresh resolves most temporary session issues with Bree.
Clear browser cache and cookies. Cached data can occasionally interfere with AI assistant sessions.
Try a different browser. If the issue persists on one browser, test on Chrome or an alternative.
Check your internet connection. Bree requires a stable connection to respond in real time.
Contact support. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Chat with BridgeU and include your school name, the user's email address, a description of the issue and any error messages displayed.
If you have any questions, need further assistance or have some general feedback for us - we’d love to hear from you! Contact our Support team via Live Chat and by emailing hi@bridge-u.com.
