Brindlechute reports download as a spreadsheet file you can open in Google Sheets, Excel, or Numbers, then filter down to just the rows you need — for example, only trips on one river, or only trips for one guide.
Most reports also let you filter on screen before you export, and the export only includes what's shown. Filter in Brindlechute when you can. Use the steps below when you need to narrow by something the report doesn't filter on, or slice the same file several different ways.
Filter your report (Google Sheets)
These steps use Google Sheets. Excel and Numbers work the same way, with slightly different menus — see the end of this article.
Upload the report you downloaded from Brindlechute.
Click a header column or the whole header row, go to Data, then click Create a filter. A filter icon appears in every column header.
Click the filter icon in the column you want to narrow.
Which column depends on what you're after. In most exports, the trip or river name is in Experience, the guide is in Guide, and the customer is in Client. Column names vary by report, so check your own headers.
Click Clear first — every value is selected by default.
Search for or tick only the values you want to see, then click OK.
A count appears in the bottom-right status bar, so you can confirm the filter caught everything you expected.
Filtering hides rows, it doesn't delete them. Clear the filter to see the full report again, or copy the visible rows into a new sheet to keep just those.
Excel and Numbers
The process is the same, only the menus differ.
Excel — Click any header cell, go to Data, then Filter. Use the dropdown arrow in a column to search a value.
Numbers — Right-click the column header, choose Quick Filter from the menu, then tick the values you want to see.
