How to duplicate an appointment pass

How to create a new appointment pass by duplicating an existing one, and what does and doesn't carry over.

This article explains how to duplicate an existing appointment pass to create a new one with the same setup. It's for anyone who manages your appointment passes. If you want to understand how appointment passes work before duplicating one, see Create an appointment pass.

Expected outcome: A new appointment pass appears in the same category, pre-filled with the original pass's setup, ready for you to review and publish under its own name.

You'll need permission to create appointment passes to see the duplicate option. If you don't see it, ask an admin to grant you access.

What you can do

  • Duplicate an appointment pass to quickly create a similar one, such as a different price or duration, without building it from scratch.

  • Review and adjust the new pass before making it available to sell.

Common use cases

  • How to create a new appointment pass based on one you already offer

  • What happens if you duplicate a pass linked to a Universal Pass

  • What happens if you duplicate a shared franchise appointment pass

How it works

  1. Go to your appointment passes list.

  2. Find the pass you want to copy.

  3. Click the copy button next to it.

  4. Your new pass appears immediately, with a number added to its name (for example, duplicating "Massage 60min" creates "Massage 60min (1)").

  5. Open the new pass and review its setup before making it available to sell. It's created with the exact same configuration as the original.

Important behaviors

  • Shared passes can't be duplicated. If the pass was shared with you from a franchise template, the copy option won't appear. Create a new pass instead, or ask your franchise to update the shared template.

  • Purchases don't carry over. The new pass always starts with zero sales, and no active member contracts are copied.

  • Visibility carries over. If the original pass is turned off, the duplicate is created turned off too. Turn it on manually if you want to sell it.

  • The new pass is always editable, even if the original was locked (for example, as part of a franchise or partner setup).

  • Compatible appointments copy independently. Any appointments and time slots the original pass is compatible with are copied to the new pass as a separate list. Changing one doesn't affect the other.

  • Linked passes get their own copy. If the original appointment pass is linked to a pass (as a Universal Pass), duplication creates a new linked pass too, separate from the original.

FAQ

Q: Can customers still book with the original pass after I duplicate it?
A: Yes. Duplicating a pass doesn't change or affect the original pass in any way.

Q: Can I duplicate a shared franchise appointment pass?
A: No. Appointment passes shared from a franchise template can't be duplicated. Create a new pass manually, or ask the franchise owner to update the shared template.
