Create a group class

This article now covers both the new Back Office and the previous Back Office.

You can create a group class from Services. Group classes and workshops are both managed there — check the Type column to tell them apart.

Steps

Step 1: Start a new class

Go to Services > Classes (the default tab), then select Create class.

Step 2: Class setup

Choose Group class as the type. Add a name, category, description, cover image, and colour tag.

Category is only used to organise your passes — clients don't see it.

Step 3: Booking rules

Set the booking opening window, closing window, and late cancellation window. Turn on auto-cancel if you want classes with no bookings to cancel automatically.

Select Create.

What hasn't changed

Associating passes with your class works the same way it always has.

Once saved, schedule your class on the calendar — see Create, edit, cancel or delete your classes.

Common questions

What's the difference between workshops and group classes?

Group classes are classes with multiple participants that display in the weekly schedule on your website or app. Workshops are events highlighted separately, which can be one-off, recurring, or part of a series.

What happens when I turn on auto-cancel?

The class cancels automatically once it drops below the booking threshold you set — for example, one booking or fewer, six hours before the start. Credits are refunded automatically, and an email goes to the class's teacher, the client, and any Owner or Admin accounts.

Can I change a class's type after creating it?

No — you can't change the type after a class is created. You'll need to create a new class from the Classes tab on the Services page.
