Bill and take payment with Quick sell

This article covers how to bill and take payment with Quick sell on the New Back Office.

Quick sell lets you bill a client for a product, pass, or service and take payment in the same flow, without creating an invoice first. Open it from the cart icon in the top navigation.

Quick sell doesn't support billing subscriptions yet. To bill a subscription, use the Subscriptions page.

Step 1: Open Quick sell.

Click the cart icon in the top navigation. Previously, billing a client meant opening their Client profile first — Quick sell now opens directly from the navigation bar.

Step 2: Select the client.

Search for the client's name, select them, then click Go to checkout.

Step 3: Add items to the cart.

Add the product, pass, or service you're billing. Add more than one item if needed. Quick sell creates and issues the invoice automatically when you take payment — there's no separate "add to invoice" or "issue the invoice" step.

Step 4: Choose One-time or Instalments.

Select One-time for a single payment, or Instalments for a payment plan. The Instalments tab is hidden when it doesn't apply to the item.

Step 5: Adjust the amount if needed.

Turn on Partial payment to collect less than the full amount now — the remaining balance shows automatically. Apply a coupon here if one applies.

Step 6: Select a payment method.

Choose from saved card, saved SEPA, new card, new SEPA, gift card, client balance, terminal, or manual, and complete any fields the method needs.

Step 7: Take the payment.

Click Pay {amount} to confirm. Click Pay later instead to close the modal and send the client an invoice — you'll get a confirmation message with a link to open it.

If a payment doesn't cover the full amount, the invoice stays Partially paid — you'll need a second payment with a different method to settle it. You can't split a single payment across two methods.

Common questions

Can I pay with more than one payment method at once?
No. If the first method doesn't cover the full amount — a gift card or client balance, for example — the invoice is partially paid, and you take a second payment with another method.

Can I use a gift card for instalment payments?
No. Instalments support saved or new card, SEPA, and terminal only.

What happens if I choose Pay later?
The modal closes and you'll get a confirmation message with a button to open the invoice in a new tab.
