Pause a subscription

This article is to guide you on how to temporarily pause a member's subscription

1st Step : Go to the member's subscription.

In the member's profile > "Billing" > Click on the name of the subscription.

2nd Step : Pause the subscription.

At the right bottom of your screen, click on "Pause".

The Pause window opens:

  • Fill in the reason for the pause.

  • Select the start day of the pause.

  • Select the end date (included) of the pause.

Keep in mind that the next billing following the pause will be shifted by the number of days of the pause, as well as all future billings.

Future invoices are postponed by the number of paused days, ensuring members are not charged during the pause.

Also, the expiration date of the pass will be extended too, and the pass will remain valid during the pause. By default, credits remain usable during the pause unless manually adjusted.

Once you've taken all the steps you can click on "Save" to confirm the pause.

Managing Credit Usage During Pauses

  • Allowing Credit Usage: By default, credits remain usable during the pause.

  • Restricting Credit Usage: To prevent bookings, manually remove credits from the member’s pass using a -1 credit adjustment. Restore the credits after the pause ends.

Handling Exceptions

  • Backdating Pauses: Pauses cannot be backdated. To compensate, extend the validity of the member’s pass by the missed days.

  • Pausing on Renewal Dates: If a payment is processing on the renewal date, the system may block the pause. Adjust the billing date manually to align with the desired schedule.

  • Studio-Wide Pauses: For global pauses, ensure no bills are generated on the same day. Manually pause affected subscriptions if necessary.

FAQs for Common Scenarios

  • Can I pause a subscription for a future date? Yes, as long as the subscription is active and the pause does not overlap with another pause.

  • What happens during a long-term pause (e.g., medical leave)? Apply the full pause duration in one action. The system will adjust billing and credit validity accordingly.

  • How can I shift a renewal date using a pause? Calculate the pause duration to align the next billing cycle with the desired date.
