How to apply a substitute teacher over several sessions?

With this article, learn how to appoint a substitute for multiple sessions in one change. This article now covers both the new Back Office and the previous Back Office.

This feature will be useful if one of your teachers is absent for several sessions and you wish to appoint a substitute for all of these sessions.

Step 1: Modify the first session

In Calendar, select the first session concerned by the teacher's absence. You will then be able to edit it:

Step 2: Indicate the substitute teacher

In the opening box is a section about the teacher by default for the session.

You can indicate in the box the person who can replace the usual teacher.

Step 3: Apply the substitution to the next similar sessions

If the selected session is a recurrent course, it will be possible to propagate this modification to the following sessions. To do this, activate the option below:

A list of the following sessions will then allow you to check off those concerned by the change of teacher.

If another substitute teacher has already been appointed for some of the selected sessions, a list of these sessions will be displayed. You can then choose which substitute you wish to keep.

Once the change is saved, the substitute teacher will be indicated as the one teaching the course.

It works the same if you want to change or delete the substitute teacher.

What changed in the new Back Office

Substitutions are now shown directly in the class table, not just in the substitution tool. Each affected class shows a substitution status chip — pending or confirmed — so you can see coverage at a glance.

You can also filter the class table by substitutions to find everything that still needs a confirmed sub.

What hasn't changed

Requesting and assigning substitutes through the substitution tool works the same way it always has.
