Step 1: Activate the add-on

Our PayPal integration is an add-on. Please contact your Account Manager to add it to your bsport plan.

Step 2: Connect your PayPal Business account

Once the upsell is activated, the section “PayPal” will appear in Settings > Company.

Click on the button “Connect PayPal account” to enable the integration. Three options are possible:

  • Connect an existing PayPal Business account;

  • Create a new PayPal Business account;

  • Upgrade an existing PayPal Personal account to Business.

After being redirected to PayPal, fill in any required information and give bsport the rights to perform actions on your behalf with this account.

Once the connection between bsport and PayPal is established, the account must be authenticated by PayPal before payments are enabled.

When the connection is valid as shown in the image above, PayPal will appear as an option for single payments in Settings > Payment methods. It will be enabled by default, but you can deactivate it if necessary.

Step 3: Payment flows

If PayPal is enabled for online payments:

  • When a member pays on the Marketplace, App or widget, they can select PayPal as one of the payment methods.

  • The golden “Pay with PayPal” button will appear to redirect the member to PayPal.

  • When the member connects to their PayPal account, they can decide which payment option to use within the account (Account balance, Card 1, Card 2, etc.). They cannot choose a bank account since we want to ensure the payment will be processed within a few seconds.

  • After returning to the basket page on bsport, the confirmation page is soon displayed.

Step 4: Reporting

On the Back Office, transactions will be indicated as paid with "PayPal" or "PayPal Wallet".

The following reports will show information about PayPal payments:

  • The Purchases report will indicate PayPal Wallet as the payment method.

  • The Payments report will also indicate PayPal Wallet as the payment method. The fees will appear in the column "Transaction fees".

  • The Total Payments report will have another column "PayPal Wallet".

💡 By default, those new columns will not appear in your existing reports. Remember to edit your reports to add the relevant columns.

Step 5: Payouts

Unlike Stripe, there are no payouts to your bank account. Instead, the funds from transactions are directly deposited into your PayPal Business account after deducting the transaction fees. These PayPal fees are automatically deducted from each transaction in real-time, so you will not be billed for them on your bsport subscription invoice.

Limitations

PayPal payments are enabled for the members on the Marketplace, widget and App. The payment method is not available for the following flows:

  • The member cannot use it to regularize unpaid invoices from their Member profile.

  • Staff and managers cannot use it on the Back Office.

  • The member cannot save the PayPal payment method to reuse later.

  • PayPal cannot be used for recurring payments (subscriptions and instalments).

🔄 Changing Your PayPal Account

To change the PayPal account connected to your bsport account, you will need to contact bsport Support. This process cannot be completed directly from your dashboard.

Before requesting the change, please ensure you are aware of the following:

  • Refunds for payments made via the previous PayPal account will no longer be processed through PayPal after disconnection.

  • Any disputes or refunds initiated via PayPal after the disconnection will need to be managed directly in your PayPal account and will not appear in bsport.

  • All pending PayPal payments must be completed before the account can be disconnected.

Once you’re ready, simply reach out to Support and our team will then handle the disconnection and help you connect your new PayPal account.
