New: Video Calls on Bubble

Video Calls allow families and sitters to easily meet before confirming a booking - it's a great way to make sure you're the right fit, get to know each other and prepare for a great sit!

Who can use video calling?

Video calling is available to Bubble+ Premium subscribers. Parents can start a Video Call with any sitter who has applied to their request, or is confirmed for an upcoming sit. The Video Call option will no longer be available if there are no confirmed bookings or live applications between a parent and sitter.

How do I start a Video Call?

Parents: you can start a Video Call directly from the conversation thread with a sitter - just tap the video icon at the top of the chat.

Sitters: you will receive the call as a notification on your device, so make sure your Bubble notifications are turned on!

Can sitters turn off Video Calls?

Yes. Sitters can turn off video calls from all parents in their Privacy settings via the Account menu, or for individual parents directly from the conversation thread with that parent.

Do:

  • Find a quiet space with good lighting and connection

  • Be punctual and treat it like a first meeting

  • Ask the questions that matter - allergens, medical needs, routines

Don't:

  • Never share personal contact details like your phone number, address, or social media on the call. If you go ahead and confirm a sit, your numbers and the sit location will be shared through Bubble at that point.

  • Screenshot or record the call without consent

If anything feels off, trust your instincts and report it.
