There are lots of different variables that come into play when setting your hourly rate, and we understand there are also factors that will require a lower or higher hourly rate depending on the specific needs of the job. These may be based on e.g. if it's a late-night sit when the children will be in bed, or if it's a daytime sit etc.

This is why we've introduced a feature that allows you to apply to jobs at a different rate than your standard hourly rate on your profile.

​How Dynamic Pricing works

When you apply to a single sit job on the app, you can select 'Edit hourly rate' (see screenshots below) for each specific job if required. The parent will then see what hourly rate you have applied to their job with.

​Step 1:

Select the 'Single' tab on the top of your homepage and tap 'Apply' to the job that suits your schedule.

​Then tap 'Edit hourly rate'.

​Step 3:

Enter a custom hourly rate that is lower or higher than your standard rate on Bubble and tap 'Set custom rate'. Please note, this will not impact other jobs on Bubble, either with this parent or any others.

​Step 4:

​The custom hourly rate will then appear as a custom rate to the parent when you click 'Apply for job'. The parent will then accept or decline your job application as normal.

Once a sit has been confirmed, you can in extenuating circumstances change the rate using the custom rate feature.

However, you must first message the parent to confirm that they are happy with the new rate before amending it on the app. The parent will also be sent an email notifying them of the rate change.
