Your bio is often the first thing a parent reads before deciding whether to message you, so it's worth getting right. A strong bio doesn't just list your experience; it gives families a sense of who you are and helps them picture you looking after their children.
Sitters with well-written bios get more enquiries, more repeat bookings, and build longer-term relationships with families.
Here are our top tips:
1. Lead with your experience:
Tell parents what kind of childcare experience you have: how many years, what ages you've worked with, and in what settings (babysitting, nannying, nursery work, au pairing). Be specific!
2. Include your relevant qualifications or training:
If you have a Paediatric First Aid certificate, a childcare qualification, or a valid DBS check, say so. You don't need formal qualifications to be a great sitter, but if you have them, shout about them!
3. Show a bit of your personality:
Parents are looking for someone their children will enjoy spending time with. Mention your hobbies: Do you bake? Play guitar? Know every dinosaur by name? These details stick in people's minds.
4. What are you currently up to?
A quick line about what you're currently doing (studying, nannying full-time, working in early years) gives parents useful context and can help to set expectations around your availability.
5. Keep it concise and personal:
We suggest between 100-1000 words. Avoid copying text from a template or AI: parents read lots of profiles, so it's best to write it in your own voice, as if you were introducing yourself in person.
6. Proofread before you publish:
Read it back, or ask someone else to check it. Spelling mistakes and missing words can undermine an otherwise great bio, and it only takes a minute to fix!
Here's an example:
"I'm a warm, energetic babysitter with over five years of experience caring for children aged six months to eleven years. I hold a Paediatric First Aid certificate and a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare, but honestly, what I love most is the job itself.
I'm a big fan of getting creative: baking, building dens, doing craft projects, or just reading together depending on what the kids are into. I'm comfortable with all routines: bath time, bedtime or dinner, and I'm used to following families' existing structures.
I grew up with two younger siblings and have worked with several families through Bubble over the past two years, some of whom I still sit for regularly. I'd love to become a trusted regular for your family too.
Looking forward to meeting you!"
