Holding a DBS certificate is not a requirement for being a sitter on the Bubble app, but it does help your profile stand out and may increase your chances of getting booking requests.
When signing up and editing your profile, you have the opportunity to state whether you hold a valid DBS certificate.
Parents can feel more secure, and be therefore more likely to book a babysitter when they see that their DBS certificate has been verified by the Bubble team, and only sitters who have had their DBS verified by Bubble will get the DBS symbol on their profile.
The conditions for verification are:
Upload a clear photo of your Basic, Standard, or Enhanced DBS and certificate number.
If you have have an Enhanced DBS, your details must have been checked against the DBS Children's Barred List, or this will be verified as a Standard check.
It has been issued within the last 18 months β or, if you are subscribed to the DBS Update Service, adding your certificate number to the app alongside your certificate will allow us to check the Update Service for you.
To upload your certificate for verification, please go to the DBS section of your onboarding portal.
Please note: your DBS certificate itself will not be viewable to anyone on the Bubble app, only to staff internally. In some cases, parents may request you bring your certificate when sitting for them, and if you've stated on your profile that you do hold this certificate, then you should be prepared to present it to a parent if asked.
