Ok, My Apple Watch is Connected. How Do I Sync?

Learn how to sync steps from your Apple Watch to Healthy Cities

Updated over 5 months ago

Now that you’ve connected your Apple Watch, learn how to sync steps, distance, and active minutes to Healthy Cities. We’ll also show you how to make sure you’ve got data available to sync!

The Syncing Process

To sync to Healthy Cities, you just need to open your Healthy Cities app and wait to see a ‘Last synced:' message to confirm that you’ve synced.

We recommend syncing by opening the Healthy Cities app at least once a day during your challenge.

All Healthy Cities challenges have a 72-hour grace period after the challenge ends to give you extra time to sync your final steps, so make sure you sync before the grace period is up!

Where Does Healthy Cities Get My Data?

Healthy Cities pulls your activity data from the Health app because it aggregates steps from your watch and phone. If steps, distance, or minutes aren’t showing here, then they can’t sync to Healthy Cities.

If activity data isn’t showing in Apple Health or syncing correctly to Healthy Cities, please see these troubleshooting tips for Apple Watch users.
