How to Access and Use Door Settings

Door Settings is a feature that allows you to customize and manage various settings for your account. This article will guide you through accessing and using Door Settings.

Accessing Door Settings

To access Door Settings, follow these steps:

If you do not have access to this feature, please contact your campaign admin for assistance.

Using Door Settings

Once you have accessed Door Settings, you will see a page with various options. These options include: App Settings, Geographic Permissions, Map Settings, Voter Display Options, Near Me and Walk List settings.

Let's take a closer look at each of these options.

App Settings

The App Settings option allows you to toggle on or off various functions for the app. These functions include:

1. Clock in clock out for door knocking and phone banking (requires a user to clock in before proceeding).
2. Enabling Self Assigned Walk lists which allows users to assign themselves an unassigned walk list in the app.
3. Allowing Offline Walk Lists which gives the user the ability to download a walk list ahead of time in case they are knocking doors in an area with poor cell service.
4. Setting the Maximum Idle Duration Time which would automatically log out a user if they have been idle on the app for longer than the set duration.

Geographic Permissions

The Geographic Permissions option allows you to set permissions for specific geographic areas. This can be useful if you want to restrict access to certain areas for certain users.

Map Settings

The Map Settings option allows you to customize the pin color configurations on the create walk list page and the app by toggling on the configuration toggle. Example you can set Republicans to display as Red pins, Democrats as Blue pins and Third Parties as Green pins.

Voter Display Options

The Voter Display Options allow you to customize how voter information is displayed on the app. You can choose to display certain fields, such as party affiliation and gender, for each voter.

Near Me

The Near Me function is a useful tool that allows users on the app to quickly find a list of houses to visit that are near their current location. To use the Near Me function make sure it is toggled on, a pre set filter is set up (see Set Filters article for more information), a distance of .2 miles to 1 mile is selected, number of voters per list is selected, and a survey is selected.

Once you have completed these steps, the app will generate a list of houses that are near your current location and meet the criteria you have set when a user clicks menu and near me. You can then visit these houses and enter in door information as needed. Overall, the Near Me function is a valuable tool for canvassers and can greatly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your outreach efforts.

Walk List Settings

The Walk List Settings feature allows you to customize the number of addresses and voters included in each walk list. This can be helpful for organizing and managing your canvassing efforts. The maximum number of addresses and voters that can be included in a walk list is 500 and 1,000, respectively. The limit is in place to ensure that the walk lists are manageable and efficient for canvasssing purposes.

Once you have made any desired changes to these settings, be sure to click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

Congratulations! You now know how to access and use Door Settings for your account. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our support team.
