Step by Step Guide to Creating Walklists with Pulsar:

Welcome to Pulsar! This guide will walk you through the process of creating walklists using our platform. Walklists are an essential tool for political campaigns, allowing you to target specific voters and track their progress. Follow the steps below to get started.

Step 1: Select Your Geographic Area

To begin, select "Doors" on the toolbar at the top of the page. From the drop down menu, choose "Create Walklist". Next, select the geographic area in which you would like to create your walklists. This could be a county, city, precinct, congressional district, or any other defined area. Once you have made your selection, press "Filter".

Wait for the map to fully load. Once you see the "Total Addresses" and "Total Voters" load in the top right corner, you can move on to the next step.

Step 2: Use Filters to Target Specific Voters

In the bottom right corner of the page, you will find a scrollable list of settings and functions. These are broken into 4 steps. Step 2 allows you to apply filters to your walklist in order to target specific voters. Some filters include party affiliation, voter frequency, and tags.

To select a tag, press the drop down arrow to the left of "Tags". Scroll down and choose from "Election History Tags", "Uploaded Tags", "Phonebank Tags", or "Survey Tags". You can then search for a specific tag and select it. Press the "x" to close the drop down menu, and choose whether to include or exclude the selected tag. Finally, press "Update Filters" to apply the filter.

Step 3: Draw Your Walklist

After you have applied any filters, you can begin drawing your walklist. Go to "Step 3 - Draw Polygons" and select the checkbox to the left of "Polygon Toolbar". In the top right corner of the map, you will now see a hand symbol and a shape symbol. Choose the shape symbol to begin drawing your first line.

To create a polygon, click on the map to start drawing a line. When you want to lock in a line, left click on your mouse. Continue to draw lines until you have connected a polygon. Everything within this polygon will become your walklist. You can create multiple polygons/walklists if needed.

Step 4: Save and Assign Your Walklist

Once your polygons are created, go to "Step 4" and press "Save". Here, you will name each polygon, select the users and teams you want it assigned to, choose a survey (adding a survey is required), and set a walklist expiration date. When you are finished, press "Save" in the bottom right corner.

Congratulations, your walklist has now been created and assigned! The users who the walklist has been assigned to can open the Pulsar Mobile app and should see the walklist and be able to open it.

Additional Options: Managing Walklists

After your walklist is created, you can select "Manage Walklists" to see a list of all existing walklists. From here, you can delete the walklists or assign additional users or teams to your walklists.

Once a walklist is created it can not be edited.
