Adding a User with Pulsar

When using Pulsar, it is important to understand the different user levels and their corresponding permissions. This will ensure that you are able to effectively manage your team and delegate tasks accordingly.

User Levels

There are five different user levels in Pulsar: Canvasser, Captain, Manager, Admin, and Account Owner. Each level has its own set of permissions and responsibilities. It is important to note that each level includes the permissions of all levels below it. This means that a Manager will have all the permissions of a Canvasser, Captain, and Manager, while an Admin will have all the permissions of a Canvasser, Captain, Manager, and Admin.

Canvasser

The Canvasser level is the most basic level in Pulsar. Users at this level have the ability to knock doors and make calls. However, in order to do so, they must be assigned walklists and phonelists by a user at a higher level.

Captain

The Captain level has the same permissions as a Canvasser, but with the added ability to add users. This means that Captains can create new user accounts and assign them to specific walklists and phonelists.

Manager

Users at the Manager level have the ability to create and manage walklists. They can also manage phonelists, but they are not able to create them. This level is ideal for team leaders who need to oversee the progress of their team members.

Admin

The Admin level is a custom level where individual permissions can be toggled on and off. This allows for more flexibility in assigning permissions to users. Admins have all the permissions of a Canvasser, Captain, Manager, and Admin, but they also have the ability to customize their own set of permissions.

Account Owner

The Account Owner level is the highest level in Pulsar. This level is generally reserved for the owner or manager of the entire account. Account Owners have all the permissions in Pulsar, making them the most powerful user in the system.

Adding a User

When adding a user with Pulsar, it is important to keep in mind that you can only add users at a permission level below you. For example, a Manager can add a Canvasser or a Captain, but they cannot add another Manager or an Admin. This ensures that users are only given the appropriate level of access and responsibility.

Conclusion

Understanding the different user levels and their corresponding permissions is crucial for effectively managing your team with Pulsar. By assigning the right permissions to the right users, you can ensure that your team is able to work efficiently and effectively towards your goals.
