How to Integrate CampusKnot with Your LMS via LTI 1.3 (Instructors)

Learn how to integrate CampusKnot into your course with our step-by-step guide.

Written by Cameron

Connect CampusKnot to your Canvas, Blackboard, D2L Brightspace, or Moodle course to sync rosters, grades, and single sign-on access. This guide covers setup and ongoing maintenance tasks for faculty, plus what students need to do on their end.

Throughout this guide, "your LMS" refers to Canvas, Blackboard, D2L Brightspace, or Moodle.

Before You Start

  • Add CampusKnot to your course adoption materials for the semester. LTI 1.3 integration are only supported at VitalSource and Barnes & Noble partner schools.

  • Add CampusKnot through your LMS's course materials form, or contact your campus bookstore representative directly.

Note: ISBN and SKU codes vary by bookstore partner and may change. Confirm current codes with your bookstore representative rather than relying on previously published numbers.

Set Up Your Course

  1. Sync your LMS account to give students single sign-on access to CampusKnot from within your LMS.

  2. Sync your course and student roster so student information in CampusKnot stays current automatically.

  3. Sync your gradebook to pass grades from CampusKnot to your LMS.

Ongoing Maintenance

For Students

Students connect their own LMS account to CampusKnot after you've invited them to the course. Share the Student Guide to Syncing an LMS Account directly with your class.

Issue

Solution

Student's grade passes back as 0

Confirm the student has connected their LMS account to CampusKnot. Unconnected accounts always pass back a 0.

Roster doesn't update after add/drop

Run a manual re-sync rather than waiting for the next automatic sync.

Single sign-on link doesn't work

Confirm CampusKnot is still listed in your course's adoption materials for the current term.
