How to do a FCL Search

We know how important is to you to have all the options available in one place. With Cargofive you can! Start exploring our Rate Finder

Updated over 6 months ago

Our FCL rate search engine was specially designed to make your procurement process much easier and faster. Plus, it records your recent searches.

When login in Cargofive, our search engine will always be displayed at first, however, if you are in another module of our App you can just access it by clicking on Rates > New Rate Finder

Then you need to fill in the information of the rate finder, the type of shipment FCL Direction (Export/Import), POL, POD, dates and type of container

Note! 🎆

You can choose one or multiple origins or destinations ports. Our system will look for all the possible combinations between them, but note that when looking for more than 3 POLS or POD the system will only show those possibilities among your uploaded contract but not the carriers' web results

If you want to include more details on your search, click on Advanced Search. You will then see more options such as add company, contact, a filter for carriers, integrations or price levels

✨Psst

click here to find out more about price levels

You can also select whether you want the rates to include local origin/destination charges, or if you want the cost of overweight to be displayed.

Also, with the "freight all in" option you can choose to see in the total costs only the freight price or the freight with its respective surcharges more the local charges

Having all the information settled, you can click on search icon. All the results found will be displayed.

You will in most of the cases get two types of results, API connections and loaded contracts

  1. The API connection results will have the shipping company's API name framed in blue. The information is updated in real-time from the shipping company web.

  2. Those with a text displayed in grey, and download option are contracts uploaded by you or one of your team mates and display the reference given to the contract when having created it

In case you had any doubt or wanted to double check on the contrcat you can always click on the download button so the document uploaded will be downloaded to your computer

psst✨ click here to learn how to upload contracts

You will be displayed the basic info of your search, origin, destination, transit time, price per equipment, and validity of your offer. You can also see additional info as for example if there is a remark, detailed costs, the schedule of upcoming departures and dates, by opening this three buttons

At the top right you will have an Edit button if you want to change any information about your search

Note 🎆 Remember that whenever you see that prices are odd or if there is a charge missing that you think should be included, first confirm it in your contracts and shipping company websites. There are often changes there.

Also remember that integrations work with spot rate and these rates change all the time, so doing a search for the same route today and tomorrow may display different prices as all the rates you see via API are for vessels that do have free space
