Door to port/door search.

How to search for door to port/door routes and which kind of results you are going to get

Updated over 6 months ago

When looking for tariffs we know is not always as simple as looking for a POL and a POD. Often marine traffic involves land transportation too, that is why in Cargofive we added the possibility to look for Door to Door or Door to Port routes.

As we explain in other articles, in Cargofive's Rate finder you can find both:

Ports:

Locations:

This allows you to perform Door to door searches:

Door to port searches:

When looking for a door to port search on Cargofive you can encounter 3 different options among the results retrieved, lets have a look at the three of them.

1. Door to port route with own inland contract

This result will show a combination of either one of your contracts (1) or a result retrieved from an integration (2), plus the price of the most economic Inland registered on your account for that port to door route

(1)

(2)

✨Psst! Here you can discover how to add Inland contracts to your account

2. Door to port route with carrier's inland

This results show the Door to port route offered by the integrated carrier. They can be distinguished by a purple truck next to the integrations name and are only available with Maersk and Hapag integrations

Maersk:

Hapag:

3. No routes available message

In case the systems finds no combination for the door to port search in your contracts nor on the integrated carriers, it will display a screen in which you can select the port you would like to look up instead of the location, so it can perform a port to port search and you can add the Inland later on the Quote

✨See here ow you can add an inland to a quote:
