Two-Way Gmail Email Integration Overview

This article explains how the two-way Gmail integration works, including how to send emails from a linked account and how replies sync back into Chariot.


Previously, emails sent through Chariot were routed through a system email address. When a customer replied, the response would go to your personal inbox, but Chariot had no way to track or display that reply.

With our new two-way Gmail integration, you can now:

  • Send emails directly from your linked Gmail account

  • See sent emails in your outbox

  • View customer replies inside Chariot

  • Keep the full conversation thread visible on the lead record


Why This Matters

Before this update:

  • Emails could be sent out through the system.

  • Replies would go to your inbox.

  • Chariot could not see or track those replies.

Now:

  • Emails sent from your linked Gmail account are tracked.

  • Replies from customers sync back into Chariot.

  • The full conversation appears inside the lead record.

FAQ

  • What happens if my email gets disconnected?

    • If an email is disconnected Chariot will fall back to the default email!

  • How will Emails look?

    • Emails will follow the templates you create! You can setup templates for different situations to make sure you always have what you need.

  • Does this mean I can use Chariot instead of my email inbox?

    • At the root cause this is not a tool designed to replace your inbox. It's purpose is to keep communication with customers visible to your team.

  • If a customer emails me will it automatically be linked to their job?

    • Right now only emails with a thread ID created by Chariot will show in the lead. If a customer starts a new thread it will NOT show inside of Chariot.
