If customers are filling out your web form but leads aren't showing up in Chariot, this guide walks through the most common causes and how to fix them.
Step 1: Confirm how your form is connected
Before troubleshooting, check with your web team to confirm which integration method you're using:
Native Chariot HTML embed — The form snippet from Settings > Web Form is pasted directly into your website. This is the most common setup.
API integration — Your web team built a custom form that sends leads to Chariot via the API. In this case, the troubleshooting steps below won't apply — reach out to your web team to check that the API connection is active and sending correctly.
If you're not sure which one you have, ask your web team. The steps below apply to the native HTML embed.
Step 2: Confirm the embed code is installed correctly
The Chariot web form only works when the embed code is placed exactly as provided. Common mistakes:
The embed code was pasted into a text block instead of an HTML/code block on your website
Only part of the embed code was copied — make sure you copied the full snippet from Settings > Web Form
The code was placed on a page that isn't live or publicly accessible
To verify: visit the page where your form is embedded and submit a test entry with a fake name/email. Check your Chariot Leads & Jobs dashboard — the test lead should appear within a minute.
Step 3: Check if the form is displaying correctly
If the form isn't visible at all on your website:
Confirm the embed is in an HTML/code element, not a text or rich-text editor field
Check that your website platform hasn't stripped or escaped the code (some platforms like Wix or Squarespace do this if the code is pasted into the wrong block type)
Try clearing your browser cache and reloading the page
Step 4: Test that leads are flowing into Chariot
Submit a test lead from the form and look for it in Chariot:
Go to Leads & Jobs and check the New Leads view
Look for the name/email you used in the test submission
If it doesn't appear within 2–3 minutes, the form may not be connected properly
Leads appearing but flagged as duplicates
Chariot will flag a web form submission as a duplicate if a lead with the same email already exists. The lead still comes in — you'll find it in your dashboard with a duplicate indicator. See Managing Duplicate Leads from Web Form Submissions for how to handle these.
Still not working?
If you've worked through these steps and leads still aren't coming through, contact support via the chat bubble in Chariot or at support@chariotmove.com. Share the URL where your form is embedded and we'll take a look.
