Sending Texts to Crew Members via Job Schedule

Text crew members, send digital bills of lading, and streamline communication in Chariot. Learn how to use this new feature with our guide.

Updated over a year ago

In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to send texts to crew members and provide them with a link to a digital bill of lading, eliminating the need to navigate through the daily crew schedule.

How to Use the Texting Feature

  1. Dispatching in Chariot: Start by assigning movers to the crew through Chariot's dispatch feature.

  2. Check Registered Numbers: Ensure that crew members have a cell phone with a number that can receive text messages registered in the resources page.

  3. Initiate Texts: Click on the three dots next to the crew, hit the send icon, and choose whether to include links to bills of lading for all jobs. Customize your message if needed.

  4. Select Recipients: Choose specific crew members to receive the text if desired.

  5. Send: Click "Send" and wait for the message to be delivered. Note: There might be a slight delay, so avoid clicking multiple times.

Viewing and Using the Texted Link

Once sent, crew members will receive a text link on their phones. Clicking this link opens the digital bill of lading page for the assigned jobs. From there, crew members can open contracts, collect signatures, and log payments directly in Chariot.

This crew texting feature serves as a valuable stopgap, allowing users to embrace digital bills of lading without relying on the current daily crew schedule. It also facilitates quick and efficient communication with crew members. Incorporate this feature into your workflow for enhanced efficiency and communication in Chariot.
