Chexy Plus Membership: what's included and how much it costs

What Chexy Plus includes, how much it costs, who's eligible, and how to sign up or cancel.

Chexy Plus is an optional paid membership that unlocks lower fees and extra features on your Chexy account. This article explains what you get, what it costs, who can join, and how to sign up or cancel.

Good to know: Plus is available to personal (consumer) Chexy accounts only — not business accounts or accounts used for business payments. Benefits apply only while your membership is active and your account is in good standing.


What do you get with Plus?

There are two plans — Monthly and Annual. The Annual plan includes everything in Monthly, plus discounted payment processing fees.

* Rush fees for non-members: two-day rush costs the greater of $2.99 or 0.3% of the payment; next-day rush costs the greater of $4.99 or 0.5% of the payment. Rush processing is still subject to cut-off times, banking days, and payment-rail availability.

** Credit builder is a members-only feature. Exception: if you had active credit builder before June 19, 2026 ("legacy access"), you can keep using it free without Plus, as long as you stay eligible. This access is personal and can't be transferred.

Early access to new features: Plus members (Monthly or Annual) get first access to new Chexy features as they roll out, including the upcoming card splitting and custom charge dates.

Note on the processing-fee discount: The reduced 1.5% / 2.25% rates are an Annual plan benefit only. Monthly members pay the standard 1.75% / 2.5%. The discount applies only to eligible payments made while your Annual plan is active — it isn't retroactive.

  • Before you enroll, Chexy shows you the total amount payable for your plan.

  • Discounts don't stack: referral tier discounts can't be combined with the Plus membership fee discount. If you qualify for both, only one discount applies to your membership fee — they don't stack.

Membership fee vs. payment processing fee

These are two separate charges:

  • Membership fee — the recurring $20/month or $200/year subscription for Plus.

  • Payment processing fee — a per-transaction fee charged on each eligible payment you make through Chexy (the percentages in the table above). This is separate from and in addition to your membership fee, and is shown to you before you confirm each payment.


Who can join?

To enroll in Plus you must:

  • Hold a Chexy account in good standing

  • Be a resident of Canada and have reached the age of majority in your province or territory

  • Have a valid payment method on file

  • Use a personal (consumer) account — Plus isn't available to business customers, or to anyone who uses Chexy for business payments, even if you also make personal payments

Your membership is tied to your account and is personal to you — it can't be transferred, shared, or resold.


How to sign up for Plus

  1. Open the Chexy app.

  2. Go to Settings → Chexy Plus.

  3. Choose the Monthly or Annual plan.

  4. Review the membership fee and confirm to authorize the recurring charge.

Once you enroll, your benefits are active right away and your plan renews automatically until you cancel.


How to cancel Plus

You can cancel anytime:

  • In the Chexy app, under Settings → Chexy Plus, or

  • By contacting the support team via the in-app chat.

What happens when you cancel:

  • Cancellation stops future renewals.

  • It takes effect at the end of your current billing period — so you keep your benefits until then.

  • Monthly: you keep benefits through the end of the current month and aren't charged again.

  • Annual: you keep benefits through the end of your current 12-month (or renewed) term.


Automatic renewal

Both plans renew automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. You'll be charged the membership fee that applies at the time of each renewal.

  • Monthly renews month-to-month.

  • Annual runs for an initial 12-month term, then renews on an open-ended basis (billed every 12 months in advance).


Refunds

Membership fees are non-refundable, including for any unused portion after cancellation. When you cancel, you keep your benefits until the end of your current billing period.


A few things to know

  • "Coming soon" features (card splitting, custom charge dates) aren't available yet. Chexy will make them available to active Plus members if and when they launch, but can't commit to whether, when, or in what form they'll arrive.

  • If your account becomes a business account, or your membership ends or is suspended, Plus benefits stop and standard (non-member) fees apply going forward.
