You can pay your City of Toronto utility or water bill using Chexy — either as a one-time payment or by setting up a recurring payment.
Why is it asking for 20 digits?
Some banks and payment platforms will ask you to enter a 20-digit account number when setting up the payee. This is because you need to combine two numbers from your utility bill:
• Account Number (9 digits)
• Client Number (11 digits — often shown as 9 digits plus a 2-digit suffix)
✅ Example:
If your bill shows:
• Account No.: 000999999
• Client No.: 0009999990 00
You would enter them together as:
000999999000999999000

Note that this is a totally different number than your Toronto property tax bill.
